Peace and Harmony; The Vastu Purush Mandala

  1. What is a Mandala?

In Vastu a mandala is a geometric form directed towards a centre, giving space a certain order, reflecting a natural order of the universe. A mandala expresses energy networks and spiritual relations in geometric and coloured symbols. Mandalas have specific geometrical meanings, psychological effects, metaphysical implications and spiritual notions because they represent physical energies, psychological emotions, Devas, cosmic principles and spiritual (divine) personalities. A mandala maybe a square, triangle, hexagonal or octagonal and contain manifold forms and geometric nets depending on time, place and circumstances, and the personality whose energies are being conveyed.

The Beneficial Access  Auspicious qualities of various Avatars and Devas (celestial rulers) are assigned to a particular mandala to give mankind beneficial access. Meditating upon an activated mandala provides a subtle connection with the energy or personality behind the geometric form.

Vastu Purusha 300pxVastu connects each energy and abstract principle with an expressive personality. In Vastu the aspect of personality is considered to be more encompassing because it is connected to consciousness, intelligence and spirit.

In the Mayamata Vedic Text it is stated: “You should know that the Vastu Purush has 6 bones, a single heart, four vulnerable points and four vessels. He lies on the floor with his head towards the Northeast.”

What is Vastu Purush Mandala? The Vastu Purush symbolises the cosmic human being or the Symbol of Life Space and his Mandala is divided into 64 or 81 equal squares upon a plot of land. Upon these squares lie 45 Devas and their respective positions to each other resuls from the division of the Mandala. By aligning our buildings and plot of land with the Vastu Purush Mandala, we can more readily access positive energies available for our own healing, growth, success and empowerment.

Human existence is strongly influenced by three aspects:

    1. The physical, social and material environment    2. The inner mental thoughts of the self, intelligence and ego.    3. Energies from the universal and divine realms (Elements, Planets, Demigods, Avatars)

The Vastu Purush Mandala Projects Peace and Harmony

The Vedas state that the cosmos reflects a universal transcendental consciousness of perfect intelligence, which creates and penetrates the world as an ecstatic ‘energy pulse’. This cosmic energy pulse manifests as the perfect Mandala, in which all elements of creation interact as perfect dynamics and harmony. This pulse or vibration enters our buildings through the Vastu Purush Mandala who is an embodiment of these cosmological principles. He represents the blueprint of a perfect building and connects us with our physical, karmic and mental aspects through our immediate dwelling.                                                   Using the science of Vastu Purush Mandala and Vastu architecture we can align our dwellings to this universal rhythm and create perfect energy flow for peace and harmony.

Summary of The 12 Vasati Laws

12 Laws of Success for Healthy Living and Building are summarised below:

The 12 Vasati natural laws form 3 groups of 4 laws as follows:

1).  Four Energetic Laws.   2.)  Four Geometrical Laws.                           3.)  Four Informative Laws

                       4 Energetic laws

    1. The Geophysical Energy Current; on Earth, the life energies flow from North to South and from East to West
    2. The Energy Potential Parts; Every surface or energy field is divided with one half as positive energy potential and the other other half as the negative energy potential. The Northeastern half being the positive and the Southwestern half being negative.
    3. Strong and Weak Areas; Each side of an energy field has a strong and weak half. The Northern and Eastern half is always the strong.
    4. Energy Potential Change; a) Water increases the energetic potential of a sector.   b) Weights decrease the energetic potential of a sector.   c) If more space is available vertically and horizontally in a certain direction a sectors’s energetic potential is increased.

         4 Geometrical laws

    5. The Effect of Proportions; Whole number proportions create a harmonic energy field
    6. The Effect of measures; The units of the natural Vasati measurement system follow a cyclic energetic rhythm that is defined by the number 8.
    7. Energy Lines and Energy Spots in Space; Space possesses an energy grid with energetic key points that is defined by its perimeters.
    8. Energy Quality of Grid Fields; Space is divided into 81 different fields of qualitative energy that are arranged in 5 concentric rings.

          4 Informational laws

    9. The Radiance Quality of the 8 directions; Each of the 8 directions is ruled by one of the 9 planets.
    10. The Influence of the Planetary Aspects on The Living Space and On the Life of the Inhabitants; The various aspects of living space and space functions as well as the various areas of life of its inhabitants are being influenced by the radiance qualities of the 9 planets.
    11. The Interaction of the Planetary Aspects; This law describes the interrelationship of the 9 planets. The planets relate to each other in either a friendly, neutral or hostile manner.
    12. Determination of the Individual Directional Qualities; Corresponding to their individual resonance on radiance, the 8 directions have a different effect on every human.

6 Ways Vastu Yantras Balance Spatial Energy

1_inch_yantra_fan.png_med

What is a Vastu Yantra ?

There are thousands of different types of yantras, however in the art of Vastu, twelve specific and authentic yantras are used as space correctional tools.

  1. According to ancient Vedic tradition the Avatars (incarnations of Krsna) are the presiding controllers of the four cardinal points and as well as the four sub directions. They reside within the various points of the respective Vastu Yantras, and once invoked by their respective mantras, they open our minds and hearts to Their transformative power.
  2. Yantras have been used in Vastu for thousands of years in order to balance defects on the energetic and karmic plane. Simply by applying yantras, the energetic quality of a room is being influenced, especially if it is applied to one of the energetic key points of a room.
  3. Corrections applied on the physical plane such as changes in the building structure are especially important, because those changes most directly affect the overall energy situation. However, a deeper level of Vastu is the karmic plane. This focuses on the combination and interaction of planetary influences inside the house. Such subtle means of correction are effective, because Vastu qualities mainly affect the subtle plane, and therefore one can also find counteracting means on this plane using Yantras
  4. This effect is due to the Geometric elements: In general, yantras are made of complex geometric elements, which form a geometric whole that creates a dynamic field of force or matrix of energy.
  5. If you look closely at a Vastu Yantra you can see Sanskrit names of the Avatars and astrological symbols representing the effectual planets. One or more of the five great elements (Earth, Water, Air, Ether and Fire) and the Devas or Universal maintainers of the cosmos, are also automatically included within their respective yantras.
  6.  The Avatars govern the spiritual level of our being and all the other levels; Geometric, Karmic, Energetic are working as subservient to that principle. This explains why wearing a Yantra or concentrating upon it bestows spiritual and astrological benefits.

The Meru Chakra

The Meru Chakra

The Meru Chakra

The Meru Chakra is one of the most valuable tools used in the science of Vasati, along with the Vasati Pyramid. It has arrived through many years of expert research into ancient Vastu shastras.

The Design and Function

This beautiful pyramid is a 3-dimensional form of the Sri Yantra (occasionally known as the Money Yantra). Carefully cast in a highly specialised heavy-metal alloy and plated in 22 carat gold; the quality materials and precise dimensions used in the construction of this yantra help form a powerful tool that will encourage the generation of positive energy flow.

The Sri Yantra is a ‘cosmogram’- a graphic representation of the universal processes of creation, maintenance and destruction. These aspects of the universe are represented by the three circles within the yantra. When these circles are elevated in this 3D form (as in the image above) it stands as a symbol of the Sumeru Mountain balancing the whole universe, and it contains all the worlds situated in the Sumeru Mountain, as described in Puranas. For this reason it is called the “Meru Prastha” or “Meru Chakra”.

44 billion demigods (devas) and demigoddesses (devis) reside in the 44 corners of this pyramid. They are automatically honoured here. They serve the order of the Supreme cosmic creator and maintainer, by carrying out the maintenance of universal affairs. Spiritual revelations are received here. It includes all knowledge and all elements. Some schools of Vedic culture explain that this pyramid becomes Maha Tripur Sundari’s divine abode.
